The house has been refurbished to offer comfortable accomodation for anyone wishing to stay and explore in Snowdonia. Photo is of the lounge getting its new woodburner, half way through house restoration. Whether coming to Snowdonia to just walk Snowdon or to visit many of the main nearby tourist attractions, towns and villages, the house is central to all. Offering very functional bunkhouse style accomodation, the house is suitable for both people who are looking for somewhere to stack climbing gear, boots and rucksacks, to team building groups, or its just as suited for relaxing family holidays with the added bonus of being able to stay on a true working farm. Although please do make sure children are accompanied at all times around the farm. The kitchen is in traditional working farm style, basic and functional, it has most modern kitchen items, dishwasher, microwave/combo, electric stove, toaster, fridge, kettle etc, large belfast sink, slate worktops, and under stairs cubby know in welsh as 'Twll dan grisiau' , literally ' hole under the stairs' with freezer, iron and board, and some storage space. Its fully equipped to cater for 12/14 people, all crockery and cutlery, saucepans mugs and glasses are in the cupboards. We also supply all the cleaning stuff you will need and tea towels. Basic supplies of tea bags, coffee, sugar and fresh milk, can also be arranged for your arrival. Other groceries can also be arranged, but must be pre booked and paid for, Tesco direct / Iceland do deliver in this area, this might save you carrying all your stuff here with you. If you arrange the time we can arrange for some one to be there for delivery. We are looking into being able to supply lamb/pork/beef from the farm for your stay too, you are welcome to contact us regarding this. We can supply fresh free range eggs. Milk from th local milkman, supplied in 4 pint bottles, these must be pre booked. The dining room has seating for 12/14, on one side a long bench seats 4 and 4 on stools, on the other side a table to seat 4/6. Combinations can be adjusted to suit your group. In this room there is a wood burner with large 'Hot plate top', ideal for cooking or keeping saucepans warm, or boiling that extra kettle full. At the front of the house, overlooking Llyn Padarn, Elidir and surrounding mountains, are the 2 lounge rooms. Both with wood burning stoves, one has a double sofa bed, the other a sofa and window seating. TV and DVD player. There is no satelite tv installed, or no phone line, there is good mobile coverage from the house. Downstairs shower/wet room. This room is very basic but functional, its only to be in use for a short while as we have plans for a new extension at the back of the house, there will be a new kitchen/diner/lounge, shower rooms and also an extra bedroom. All the floors downstairs are quarry tiles, making the downstairs area walking boot friendly, we do not mind this at all. The mop is under the stairs! However, we don't want boots upstairs, thanks. Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms. One bedroom to the rear of the house has a kingsize bed, small wardrobe and window seating. The other bedroom to the rear of the property has 2 single beds. The front bedrooms, one has 2 sets of bunks, and the other has one set of bunks, and the airing cupboard, this is the warmest bedroom! Great in winter. All beds are made up with mattress cover, bottom sheet and one pillow with cover, duvet with cover. You are welcome to bring your own extra pillow if need be. Bath Towels are not included but can be provided. Heating is fully controlable by a thermostat in the hallway. Logs are available for one nights supply, any more are £5 per bag or you are welcome to bring your own. The patio area and garden are for your exclusive use, as is the house parking area, the farm yard has a seperate entrance and should not be used. The patio and garden area will not be finished until mid summer, approx June, but there is place to park outside the house. Close to both the A5 and the A55, its very easy to get to Llanberis, and to find the house you need to follow the directions on the Find Us page. Only 40 minutes drive from Llandudno and Colwyn Bay Zoo, 16 miles from the famous Betws Y Coed, 5 miles from Caernarfon Castle, the attractions are varied throughout the area. 15 minutes drive will see you well onto Anglesey. There are many beaches within a 10/15 minute drive. More on the area page. Walking distance from the Snowdon Mountain Railway, Electric mountain visitor centre, Slate museum and Lake Railway, Ropes and Ladders, Diving centre, forest walks, lake side walks, and canoeing, the waterfall, Dolbadarn Castle and last but not least Snowdon itself can be walked straight from the door. (If you want a mention here please do email me) Built in the early 1900's to replace the original farm house, (which is part of the farm buildings to be renovated), it is of solid stone construction. We started to refurbish in January 2008, and after a lot of hard work and stress trying to get the plumber to turn up, it is now at long last ready on the inside! We are hoping to build an extension to include one large open plan room, new showers and kitchen, and extra sleeping.
